About Us...
Camp Fire's youth development philosophies center around the concept of "developmental assets." These assets are the building blocks that help all children to succeed. Some examples of developmental assets include:
- a relationship with a caring adult
- a safe environment
- a vision for your future
- learning good decision-making skills
- a positive peer group to belong to
- the opportunity to make a difference
Camp Fire Works!
In our most recent survey of youth and their parents they reported the following as a result of participation in Camp Fire programs:
- 90% report that youth demonstrate sensitivity to people of different ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds
- 81% report that youth seek to resolve conflict nonviolently
- 90% report that youth feel valued by adults
- 89% report that youth feel valued by their peers
- 78% report that youth spend time volunteering
- 100% of parents report that the program allows them to work or pursue educational opportunities
These statistics clearly indicate that the outcomes of Camp Fire programs contribute to the strengthening of families and the community while supporting the youth that we serve.
